Workarounds for display issues running pycharm under xmonad (blank window):
- wmctrl LG3D
- export _JAVA_AWT_WM_NONREPARENTIN=1
- export PYCHARM_JDK=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk-amd64
- Suggestion to use openjdk instead of oracle jdk, never did much for me though
